Reiki (pronounced Ray Key) is a combination of two Japanese words rei and ki meaning universal life energy. It is a laying of hands over the body (although often not touching the body) and transfering energy through the practicioner to the recipient.
The timing is flexible upon the readiness of the student. You can receive your first degree in one day, or you may take several days. The same is true for the second and third degrees. Still, the third degree, is more intensive and you may wish at least two days (in addition to the first and second degrees) to complete this. Some people wish to take a day for each degree whereas others prefer a week or month.
Classes generally begin in the evenings at 4:00 pm and finish at 9:00 pm.
